Contemporary Projects would like to announce that after 13 years of hard
and tenacious work, keeping the studios on an even keel through interesting
times and organising 49 exhibitions with Pallas Heights, Studios and Projects co-founder Brian Duggan will be leaving his position as Director and Curator at Pallas. Brian was instrumental in helping Pallas play its part in creating a vibrant animated contemporary art scene in Ireland. Brian made a huge contribution to Pallas in his years as Executive Director, so we are happy to report that Brian will retain his position on the board where his experience, input and insight into art and strategic planning will be a valuable support to the continued development of Pallas. From mid-May 2009 onwards Brian
will be engaged full-time on his own artistic projects. Pallas would like
to thank him for his years of tireless service and wish him the very best
in his future projects, not least his upcoming solo Co-founder and Director Mark
Cullen will be joined by artist Gavin Murphy as Co-director and artist
Fiona Chambers will continue her role as Assistant The current Pallas board consists of Helen Carey (Chair), Garrett Phelan,Patrick Murphy, Gabby Smith, and Patrick Ambrose. I would like to say a thank you to the Arts Council and Dublin City Council for their valued support of Pallas. But a special thank you is due to Mark, Gavin and the artists whom I had the pleasure to work with over the years. Pallas is made up of artists, and the projects over the last 13 years were unique. I think we did something important and special in that time, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
