Deirdre Eustace [born in Saskatchewan, Canada] studied art in Vancouver, later Regina, and later in Dublin. She likes to paint with thick layers of oil paint and sometimes melts beeswax into her paint in order to sculpt the paint. She has been an artist in residence at the Banff Centre [Canada], Watershed [USA] and AIR Vallauris [France] and lives and practices in Dublin [Pallas Studios, Folley Street].
“I am only just starting to find my way around Dublin [and Ireland] and slowly beginning to exhibit paintings in Ireland. There were so many things to learn about Ireland that I admit, for the first while, I just wanted to sit in the pubs and ‘chat’…so I am excited to start exhibiting paintings here.” Deirdre
